Rocky Horror Show LPs: Roxy Cast, Motion Picture, & Shock Treatment

You are bidding on three albums, a kind of Brad & Janet trilogy.  All from the genius of Richard O’Brien and the productions of Lou Adler and Michael White.  The Rocky Horror Show (original Roxy cast) was put out in 1974.  The Rocky Horror Picture Show (motion picture soundtrack) was put out in 1975.  Shock Treatment (original soundtrack) was O’Brien’s later follow-up released in 1981.  It followed the further adventures of Brad and Janet and was also strange.  All were from Ode Sounds & Visuals.

Here is the truth, I am not in the business of selling records and I don’t know how to grade them.  I am going to tell you the condition I see/hear and you make your own decisions.  These albums have all been played, but not too much.  I bought them, I played them, and for some reason I have kept them around (unlike that brilliant decision a decade earlier when I traded all my albums to my brother for his 8-track tapes) (hey, anybody want a bunch of 8-track tapes?). 

The Rocky Horror Show – Original Roxy Cast

Cover says “Lou Adler Presents The Michael White Production Starring Tim Curry in The Rocky Horror Show” “Directed by Jim Sharman” “Book, Music & Lyrics by Richard O’Brien.”  Back lists the Roxy Cast as Tim Curry, Jamie Donnelly, Boni Enten, Abigale Haness, Alan Martin, Meat Loaf, Kim Milford, B. Miller, Susan Morse, John Mark Robinson, Bruce Scott, and Graham Jarvis as The Narrator.  Album produced by Lou Adler, Engineer is Hank Cicalo.

The cover is in quite good shape, with the usual corner bumps and edge wear.  The back has some ink and address stamps on the lower right.  It is a fold-out cover with great photos from the production inside with the song list and usual credits.  There is a wonderful die-cut insert featuring Tim Curry on one side and the lyrics on the other.

The original paper sleeve is in good shape.  The record itself lies flat, plays well, and has no scratches or scuffs.

The cover is in decent shape, with the usual corner bumps and edge wear.  The original paper sleeve has a split on one side.  The record itself lies flat, plays well, but I see a couple light scratches.

Back lists the movie cast as Jessica Harper, Cliff De Young, Patricia Quinn, Richard O’Brien, Charles Gray, Nell Campbell, Ruby Was, and Barry Humphries.  Album produced by Lou Adler.

The cover is in nice shape, with some corner bumps and edge wear.  The sleeve is plastic.  The record itself lies flat, plays well, but I see a couple light scratches.
