Description
For auction I have an absolutely stunning copy of Rod Stewart's classic 1970 album Gasoline Alley released on the Vertigo label in England with the catalogue number 6360 500.
This has remained virtually untouched since being pressed over 43 years ago. I am pretty sure it would be very hard to find a better copy.
The high quality 70s vinyl retains an amazing "just pressed" deep lustre with just the faintest and tiny amount of light wispy surface marks caused by removal from the inner sleeve. Certainly no sound affecting scratches at all. There is NO spindlewear evident. Near mint condition.
Beautiful Howards Printers (Slough) gatefold sleeve is in the best condition you could ever hope for.
Original "Made In England" Vertigo swirl inner remains in excellent condition with just some age related discolouration and NO splits. Excellent+ condition.
The spine too remains crisp and sharp with all text perfectly clear and readable. Excellent+ condition.
So to sum up this is a must for anyone wanting to own a classic album in the very best of condition. The winning bidder will most certainly not be disappointed, that's 100% guaranteed!
RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM MINT :The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed be Mint.
EXCELLENT :The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD :The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
I may use a + or a - to emphasise a grading which may be inbetween a grade. I will never use a mint grading for a 2nd hand/used record for instance. Mint- will be the very highest grade.
