What you are viewing is a piece of Rock history, an original first UK Stereo album of one of the most influential rock albums of all time, a real corker!
Stones fans will know, how Andrew Loog Oldham, locked Mick and Keith in a house and would not let them out until they wrote original material! They had to put aside their beloved blues collection and write contempary material. Fair play to them for for writing some of the best songs of the sixties, Lady Jane, Under My Thumb, Out of Time, and Take it or leave it!
Aftermath has a consistent, mood and tone, it's dark, moody and contemplative, in some ways it was a gateway to Punk, the anger is there, but kinda expressed in a sarcastic, resigned manner.
Frank Zappa loved it and said it was the social and political commentary of its day.
I loved the way the stones at this stage where pushing and testing the very boundaries of music. Going home! really tested how long a pop song should be, and just listen to Brian Jones weaving his instrumental, sonic magic all over this recording.
You will see from the pictures that the cover has some tape markings around the edges, that is mainly only visible on the back cover. I have inserted record into a brand new protective,clear outer, Blake sleeve cover, and the iconic cover photography of the Stones look's great. The Blake sleeve really enhances the front cover, and makes it look really cool, it's looking really well for a cover that is well over 50 years old.
I have test played this record on my modern Teac Lp-500, and side 2 on my Vintage,
JVC -AL-E300.
It blew my socks off! The Vinyl plays much closer to grade EX, for audio quality but I hesitate to list it as such due to a few, very light scratches.This barely affects the audio Sonic's one jot!
Please do not confuse my listing with the folks who are selling battered, mashed up copies on the net.You deserve to hear this music as if you where standing in Decca studies back in 1966, and just Think! Think! a little bit baby! a few months later England won the world cup! What a year!
This is a rare opportunity to get your hands on a genuine piece of Rock memorabilia.
