Description
This is the almost never seen true 1st stereo UK pressing SKL 4852. Lots of early unboxed Decca stereo pressings appear claiming to be the first stereo pressing, but this impossible to find version is the true first. They only made a few of these. The big difference is the "Mirage Music" is on the right side of the hole. This is also the deep groove, or grooved label which is missing on later copies. Mono copies were the norm at this time and stereo copies are scarce, and this is the scarcest. If you poke around you will see none for sale or sold on ebay right now. Their presence is known, though, on other sites.
The jacket on this copy is quite nice with no splits, and only very light wear. The record is clean, shiny vg+ or better. It has a few super light paper scuffs and mini hairlines that are mostly a non issue. The disc plays quiet even between tracks. It also includes the original made in England sleeve, which is a good read about stereophonic equipment. It is in excellent condition as well.
A very clean, super scarce copy!
I am selling some of my rare and collectible records. You may notice from my other listings that I collect books and paper. I am also very keen on records. I have personally owned most of these records for a number of years. Rest assured I understand grading, defects, pressing, rarity, and other nuances of collecting records. All records will be safely shipped in record boxes. The first record is 3.95 and 1 dollar per lp after that up to 4 records in a box. Then it will start again at 3.95 plus 1. I grade accurately. If I say super clean(which most of my records are) it will be. I will describe scratches and other imperfections. I have listened to all the records I have. I clean them as needed. I am very good at cleaning records by the way. Most of these records needed very little cleaning. If you see a small round thing that shouldn't be there, It is a ceiling light that is reflecting in the shrink wrap or other shiny surfaces. Feel free to ask any questions and good luck!
