Description

Rolling Stones – Exile on Main Street: COC69100 1972 A1/ B2/C1/D3 1st Press EX++
A fantastic double album from 1972 which I have owned since new and rarely played (and when I did it was on Linn/SME based system).
Discog describes this first UK release: https://www.discogs.com/Rolling-Stones-Exile-On-Main-St/release/375854
Sleeve Issued in a fold-out card sleeve with black and white text. Printed inner sleeves with photographs and credits.

On reverse and both inners: "Rolling Stones Records TM Musidor N.V. Distributed by Kinney Record Group Ltd (p) 1972" followed by, in a smaller font: "by Shorewood Packaging Co. Ltd. ENGLAND"
No postcards remain.
The glue on the inner part of fold out has become ineffective so the whole inside hinges open. I have decided to leave as original but could just as easily pop a bit of paper glue on to secure – would rather purchaser decides on that.
Condition is excellent with no tears/creases.
Inner Sleeves (one green/one red) are in excellent condition and have photos and track listings.
The red one sees same glue degradation as main sleeve and all that is needed is glue to be reapplied – it is not a tear.
Vinyl: Both discs still have fantastic sheen and only very very light markings evident when under certain light – excellent condition
I have just played all 4 sides on my Linn/SME/NAIM system and boy what an experience – after over 40 years this plays fantastic. There is minimal surface noise and the sound has a fantastic clarity and crispness- a joy and you will not be disappointed (see notes)
Comments: No skips/jumps
Side 1: None Side 2: Sweet Virginia: a bit of light surface crackling heard in quieter sections Side 3: Intermittent light surface cracking heard in quieter sections Side 4:Intermittent light surface cracking heard in quieter sections
