Description
I am auctioning here my Rolling Stones black compilation box set, released in 1978, on the Decca
label, catalogue number RS30.001/005.
The original black textured cloth box, with the Rolling Stones name and the word 'Decca' in
multi-coloured glitter, is in excellent condition with no price sticker marks, no tears or splits.
The five albums are all in their original thin PVC protective inner sleeves, inside the original
card LP picture sleeves. There is one sleeve for each band member with short sleeve notes in
French and English. All five LP sleeves are in very good condition with no creases or marks (but
they do have some small splits along their edges caused by the LPs rubbing the insides of the
sleeves).
The LPs themselves are in excellent/mint condition, with no marks at all.
The original black/glitter t-shirt is also in excellent condition, is unworn with no marks, rips
or tears, and comes in its original plastic bag.
The original Decca album insert is also in excellent condition, with no marks, tears or creases.
I bought this box set myself in Bergen, Norway in 1978 whilst living there. I'm a huge Stones fan,
but it's now time to clear out my vinyl collection and just listen to CDs and mp3s. (I'll be
listing a few other Stones rarities in the coming days - including the ultra-rare Italian 45 - so
take a look at my other items shortly.)
This is an extremely rare item and an absolute must for any true Stones/vinyl fan. When these box
sets do become available, they often sell for close on £100. This is a no reserve auction so there's a bargain to be had here.
This a sturdy heavy box set, so the p&p cost for UK delivery is £8.50, payable by the buyer in addition to the final auction price. I will ensure that the box set is
securely wrapped in bubble-wrap, cardboard and paper, to ensure that it arrives safely with the
successful bidder. I will post with Royal Mail. I will post to anywhere overseas but please ask me
for postage costs to your country before bidding so that I can give you an accurate p&p price.
