Description

An original 1st press of GHS on UK Rolling Stone label from '73. Matrix A2/B3. Please note the labels are consistent with 1st issue and do not exhibit text in the upper half of the label. Well worth going for the early copies as they were pressed heavier than on later copies. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover [stiff card]. We have the chocolate brown credit insert and the original blue text inner sleeve. The goats head photo poster - is ABSENT.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In marvellous condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio come across with superb clarity. Don't go risking a 50/50 copy! This title has a lot of quite fussy audio. You're going to need to find a really well preserved copy to do this classic Stones title full justice. A clean player throughout - even into the slower lowkey trippy moments. 'Angie' is a super fussy track. This copy executes it PERFECTLY. I'm finding it hard to find fault. And most certainly loving the audio - are all copies gonna play like this? Hell no! At worst a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. Extremely addictive. Very impressive. 
Cover (Ex-) Looking at the cover one could easily be forgiven for thinking that this is a reissue. But hey - I'm here to tell you this is the real deal. Someone's just been very careful with it. Front and rear surfaces are looking very flat and clean. This is unusual. Often GHS has been stacked on a shelf next to Sticky Fingers and that dreaded zip! But this copy is in exceptional condition. The interior is near perfect. A touch of edge wear, but nothing worrisome. Openings are still very firm. The spine is 100% perfect. Now - that is very unusual to find like that. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity in part thanks to the heavy card employed in manufacture.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No edge splits. Slight tear repair at the top.
Insert (Ex) Impeccable.
