THE ROLLING STONES – HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR MOTHER LIVE! – SKL 4838 – STEREO
* RARE unboxed pressing of this 1966 UK export LP - earliest matrix numbers*
VG (sleeve)/ NM (vinyl-aural) condition
A note on my approach to selling records: Listings for records on eBay often fall short on detail both visually and descriptively, which can lead to disappointment. I take revealing photos, often in harsh light, so that you can actually see what you’ll get. I also describe honestly what you’ll hear. I tend to under-grade slightly, so I hope you will be pleased with your purchase and get what you expect – please see my feedback for records sold.
have you seen your mother LIVE!
MATRIX NOS:
Side 1: ZAL - 7517 - 1W
Side 2: ZAL - 7518 - 1W
CONDITION:
Sleeve: VG
In very good used condition, nice and clean both sides. The laminate has retained most of its sheen, with only minor ring wear on the front, a bit more on the back. No laminate lift, no seam splits, all edges still okay, and the spine is still fully legible with some rubbing/wear at both ends. There are several short light creases as can be seen in the photos. (The purple/green effect in the photo of the back of the sleeve is a camera lens artefact only, it's not on the sleeve)Inner sleeve: VG+
Original inner sleeve in used but clean condition, totally intact, no splits, no significant yellowing, just one or two light natural creases from decades spent inside the sleeve.Labels: EX
Just a few light spindle marks (shown in harsh artificial light - they are nothing like as visible in natural light). Both labels are in vibrant deep blue condition.
Vinyl-visual: EX
No significant signs of use - it really hasn't been played a lot! Both sides are very clean with a lovely black sheen and nothing of any note - just some very light and very fine surface signs of use, but nothing significant! There are NO scratches and there is NO groove damage. Easily in excellent visual condition.
Vinyl-aural: NM
It plays perfectly all the way through from beginning to end. The sound is loud and clear and powerful, with punchy bass - a 'wall of stereo live stage sound'! There are no scratches and there is no distortion. The run-in grooves are clear with barely a crackle. No surface noise throughout. Really, it plays LIKE NEW!
GRADING:
I follow RECORD COLLECTOR guidelines, and use Good (G or G+), Very Good (VG or VG+), Excellent (EX or EX+), and Near Mint or Mint. The majority of the records I sell range from VG+ to Near Mint, and come from my collection of over 1,500 albums and singles. I listen to them on a Rega Planar 3 turntable.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
(FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced).
DELIVERY:
All records are sent Royal Mail 1st Class Signed-For in custom record mailers.
