Description

An original 1968 copy of the Stones No.2 album on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1A/2A. Please note the labels do not exhibit the Decca deep-groove which was phased out in the middle of '67. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono cover with the original inner sleeve dated to Oct-68 [10-68]. For those wishing to make sure that the original inner sleeve remains perfectly preserved we have also thrown in an original red Decca inner sleeve to house the record - as a spare. So, 100% genuine and 100% preserved.
Vinyl (Ex) In great shape and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks each side. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with one tiny deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is very minor and certainly infrequent. We detected a few crackles in the intro to track 1, but this soon peters out. Other than that we are talking about the odd static crackle in the occasional isolated moment... i.e. very little at all. Overall it provides a clean and thoroughly impressive rendition.
Cover (Ex) Wow, not easy to find these 60's copies looking quite this good. A lovely clean front which appears to have totally avoided laminate lift and is only exhibiting a couple of small thumbnail creases. The rear is in incredible condition it is very very unusual to find a 60's cover like this completely free of ageing or marking. It really is only showing ultra-light signs of handling. Edge wear is very light - just a touch down at the foot on the bottom seam. The spine is pretty much entirely intact and the text all legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and you do almost have to do a double-take to totally accept the fact it originates from the late 60's.

Inner [Mono-red] (Ex) Very very nice. No splits. Barely any ageing.
