Rolling Stones - Their Satanic Majesties Request UK Decca Records TXL 103 - 1st mono pressing from 1967
Matrixes A side: ARL-8126-1P B side: ARL-8127-P1
Condition Sleeve: EX++ The fully-laminated 3D gatefold sleeve is in astounding condition with incredibly bright 3D image and unfaded blues on the background picture. The spine is undamaged and the inner gatefold is spotlessly clean. Needless to say, there are no rips, tears or writing anywhere, and no creases that I can see. The opening edge is perfectly straight and unworn. The only fault I can find is that there is a miniscule amount of shelf wear to the bottom edge and a 1mm patch of wear to the very top of the spine. Would be almost impossible to find a better example of this iconic cover after 45 years. Vinyl: VG++ Although this record looks barely played, there are some visual faults to the vinyl. On both sides there are patches of dusty looking marks which, I believe, have been caused by long-term storage in the paper inner sleeve. These marks, which seem to run in thin lines across the vinyl, can only be seen in certain lights and do not appear to affect play. Some can just about be seen in pic 8. Both sides also have a handful of very light hairline marks which, again, do not appear to affect play. Overall the vinyl retains a healthy sheen, but it is NOT MINT. I have downgraded to VG++ so as not to disappoint anyone, but the good news is that the playback remains superb. Labels: EX/EX+ Two light spindle trails on side 1/side 2 is spotless. Inner sleeve: EX The unfaded inner is in top condition with no seam splits, tears or writing, just light creasing to the corners. Audio: EX I have played both sides and am happy to report that the LP retains a fantastic full mono sound, with no signs of distortion or groove wear, only extremely light background crackle here and there in some quieter parts and between some tracks. I mention this so as to not disappoint, but it is barely noticeable and for the most part the LP plays near perfectly
Overall still a really nice copy of this iconic LP, with possibly the best cover and inner I have ever seen
