Description

Offered is an original 1971 U.S. Presswell (PR) pressing of
The Rolling Stones' classic Sticky Fingers (COC 59100). This copy
features the original working zipper cover, Andy Warhol photo insert, yellow
Rolling Stones Records labels with the 1841 Broadway, New York address, and
"Distributed by Atlantic Recording Corp." rim text. The dead wax
includes the Presswell (PR) designation, the Rolling Stones Records machine
stamp on both sides, and matrix numbers ST-RS-712189-E PR (Side 1) and ST-RS-712190-B
with hand-etched "RR" and separate PR stamp (Side 2). Cover: VG+, Beautiful gatefold with a clean readable solid
spine with some minimal paper loss on the words Sticky Fingers. Corners are sharp showing normal light wear for a 1971 album. No obvious ring wear visible. Zipper is intact and working. Small indentation on the Warhol photo insert from the zipper pressing against it. Small indentation on the back cover possibly from a ballpoint pen. No ink just an indentation. Original gatefold had an adhesive strip that attached to the Warhol photo, in order to view the entire photo you had to loosen the strip which left some glue residue on the back of the front cover. Both the Warhol photo insert and the original Rolling Stones inner sleeve are in EX to NM condition. All imperfections are very minor
and overall, an excellent jacket for its age.Vinyl: VG, retains excellent original gloss. Labels are extremely clean. A few light scratches, hairlines and sleeve marks visible under bright light. No deep scratches
observed. Playback is strong with some background noise noticeable only between tracks. One minor skip heard at the the end of "Brown Sugar".Shipping: Record will be shipped in a new anti-static inner
sleeve along with a new protective poly outer sleeve. The record will be
removed from the jacket during shipment to prevent seam splits and packed in a
professional LP mailer with cardboard stiffeners.
