Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers 1973 Repress Zipper Andy Warhol Cover VG/VG.
For auction is a very good listeners copy of Sticky Fingers, by legendary British rockers, The Rolling Stones.
Released in April 1971, Sticky Fingers was the bands ninth UK release and eleventh in the US. It was the bands first release on their new and own label, Rolling Stones Records. It was their first studio album without founding member, Brian Jones, who died in 1969, and the second studio album to feature guitarist, Mick Taylor. The album was a great critical and commercial success becoming the bands first record to top both the UK and US album charts. It also hit #1 in nine other countries. In the US, it spent four weeks atop the Billboard 200 and 69 total weeks on the list. It features the hit singles, “Wild Horses” (#28) and “Brown Sugar” (#1) which both charted on the Billboard Hot 100.
The album also includes the classics, “Bitch”, “Sister Morphine” and “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking”.
Considered to be one of the bands best records, Rolling Stone ranked it #104 on it’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” in 2020. Also, in 1999 it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Sticky Fingers has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide. This copy is a 1973 repress with workable zipper cover designed by pop-art pioneer, Andy Warhol.
Vinyl is play graded VG. Several light visible surface marks that are not deep. Plays with mild background noise at times that is never overwhelming. No skips or jumps! Please see pics.
Cover with workable zipper is also in VG condition. Minor shelf wear on corners and seams but no splits. Title is perfectly legible. Small creases along title edge on both sides as well as stains. Most apparent on upper right side of front. Original inner is included but a generic white die-cut one is used to protect vinyl. Please see pics.
