Rolling Stones - Stoned b/w I Wanna Be Your Man US London 45-LON 9641V DR 31955 Original 1964 1st Press Promotional copy in super VG+(+) or better condition.
This is the original 1964 release, not the later 1965 issue with the white label. This certainly rates as one of the TOP worldwide Rolling Stones rarities. As is well documented this release was almost immediately withdrawn, and copies have been always been rare, & only getting rarer for close to fifty years now. Examples in the wonderfully clean condition that this copy is in are rarer still. The vinyl is clean bright & shiny, grading VG++ / M- visually when viewed in daylight or indirect household light. When viewed critically directly under bright light, such as a halogen bulb, the inevitable wispy light paper scuff lines can be detected, though just barely. There are no scratches, scuffs or marks on the vinyl, it's a great example, as the sound clip accompanying this offering will reveal. This copy was purchased in NYC during the 1970's directly from a record company insider. It virtuallly NEVER turns up in the excellent shape that this one is in.
