Hi, and welcome to my auctions. I am currently auctioning off my own personal collection of LP's that I have collected over many years. I will try to be as accurate as possible. An original 1st Stereo pressing of Their Satanic Majesties on the UK Decca label from 1967. Matrix 4K/7K. Please note the labels exhibit the deep-groove and are consistent with 1st pressing. It's also worth noting that due to the relative unpopularity of this album at 1st release this is one of the harder Stones LPs to find, particularly in the stereo format. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo gatefold with lenticular on the front and is printed by Robert Stace. Also note that the 1st issue covers were made in a particular way with a piece of card glued to the rear to form the pocket for the LP. This is easily identifiable when you see the red of the rear section slightly protruding beyond the edge of the interior image. The only thing missing is the original inner sleeve.
Vinyl is excellent and in great condition it has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a few marks - but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an excellent level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. This particular title is chock full of percussive acoustic sounds - it really needs a well preserved copy to do it any sort of justice. Thankfully this copy has been looked after and it shows! The audio quality is very very nice and interference is relatively minor and infrequent. All we detected was a couple of crackles in the odd place and a touch of light static momentarily in 'The Lantern' - and even this is minor. It really is a very fine player and well above the standard of many copies that usually surface.
Cover is excellent, this really is a little beauty...Most certainly one of the best looking I've seen. Shiny like new back and front with minimal fading and that lenticular is in very rude health! Often this title can be found looking a bit worse for wear and the lenticular image a bit dull looking, or worse still, cracked. Not here! The lenticular is in excellent shape and is solidly stuck down with a nice clear image. The interior is in excellent condition too. Edge wear is very light and the spine is perfectly intact which is unusual. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. A really tremendous specimen.
