This is a very rare 3D version of the fantastic stones album from 1967 which I have owned from new. This copy is overall in superb condition and knowing how collectable this album is I will describe the bits the best I can, and for you collectors out there I am being super critical in my description.
The main cover has the well known but very rare 3D hologrammed picture and is in excellent condition. There are no tears or rips on the main sleeve just some slight wear marks on the outer corners and along the lower edge. The spine is in excellent condition with the “Decca†and “Mono TXL 103†wording clearly visible. The rear of the sleeve has a very slight mark (centre top). The interior is very bright with just a minor mark on the RHS of the maze picture.
The interior sleeve is the original Decca “red cloud†and is also in excellent condition. On the lower edge were the album sits there is a small split approx 20mm long. There are no tears or rips on the inner sleeve.
The main album is very bright with a very few hairline markings and the centre label is the very rare unboxed Decca with silver lettering on a light blue background with the words “full frequency range recording†(see picture).
I have played the album for one last time and it sounds great, the only flaws I heard was a few minor “clicks†at the end of “In Another Land†on side 1 (when the man is snoring) and on side 2 there is 1 minor skip on the last track which is hardly noticeable.
So there you go an album that’s 40 years old that has been lovingly played and cared for by a devoted stones fan.
