The open Decca Stereo releases are extremely difficult to locate these days. One can track down the mono and boxed stereo album releases but this particular issue appears to be very elusive indeed.

It was issued in mid 1969, two months before Decca changed its label format to a boxed logo. The unboxed Stereo albums are like gold dust now and are very hard to find especially in this condition .They were subjected to a serious limited number release.

This was the Stones last album of the sixties and was released just after Brian Jones death. It is a phenomenal album with an infusion of R&B and rock & roll. And does it work well !

Exclusive 1st issue poster with strong colours. Hardly seen the light of day. Excellent condition. Just two corner creases otherwise near mint!

Album sleeve

Laminated front face with mega rare sticker. Sticker is in near MINT condition ! See pic !

Earliest issue with clipped spine, clearly showing title. Upton Printing Group with peep hole in reverse. Later issues do not have this aperture. Slight discoloration on reverse face otherwise excellent. Minimal feathering to opening edge. Corners lightly scuffed. Vivid strong coloration on front face, one of the best front covers I have had the pleasure to view !

Blue original 1st issue inner sleeve. NO seam splits and in excellent condition. Only very light creasing otherwise near mint . NO rips/tears.

Vinyl surfaces do show some hairlines/light marks and visual is very good. Sheen is very distinctive and is a pleasure to view. Matrices P-3W .

Audio Vg+/Ex+

Just recently upgraded to a Project turntable and wow, this audio is out of this world. Absolutely Fantastic!!! Occasional surface noise but heard oh so distant ! Dynamic range of sound from the stereo perspective. Tones are delivered extremely well. For just one moment there are some very light ticks but hardly noticeable and that is that …can find little to fault. Some static /crackle may be between tracks but does not interfere with the musical presentation in any way. Absolutely brilliant audio channels and very rare to locate in this condition. For the most part, an excellent aural delivery and dips occasionally in some parts to a very good + !!For example,the opening track side 1, slight crackle but not maintained for long ,as music is projected way above any disturbance. Engineered to the highest quality.

An excellent example of this HUGE rock classic and becoming harder to locate as each day passes.
