This Broadway-transfer run was short-lived.
It was nicknamed No Chance, No Chance
Still, this musical was a favorite for many of those who were fans of musicals like She Loves Me and Helping.

After thirteen previews, the Broadway production, directed by Harman and choreographed by Pamela Sousa, opened on May 1, 1988 at the Helen Hayes Theatre, where it ran for 297 performances.

In 1988, it was nominated for 5 Tony Awards: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical.
It was also nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics.
