Ron Rude Rare OZ Post Punk LP Borders of disgrace VG+ ’79 LO-Fi DIY KBD RUD001

Ron Rude

The borders of disgrace

Mega Rare OZ LP released in 1979 on Private pressing, Unforgettable Records. Cat: RUD001. Comes with lyric insert which has a few light age spots and is in Excellent condition. Have uploaded a few tracks via Youtube to listen to.

Recorded on a Teac 4 track in Belgrave, Victoria and pressed in very small quantities by Astor records in Clayton, Victoria. Late 70s Australian lo-fi, post punk/garage. Ron Rude was one of the first Australian indie musicians to self record and release their own material, which he did with the release of his first album 'The Borders of Disgrace' in 1979 and is considered to be a pioneer of DIY recording. Rude was also part of the post punk "little band scene" that flourished in Melbourne in the late 1970s - 1980s, and is probably best known (to the general public) for staging a hunger strike in the window of local record shop Missing Link and the demand that local radio station 3XY play his records, threatening to drown himself in a bucket of water if they did not.

Tracks: Films of ecstasy/ Truly Julie/ Sixteen in Melbourne/ Digging my grave/ Orgasm on a Saturday night/ Take my life/ Leda’s myth/ Child of love/ Silver city/ At least I’ve got you.

Labels are nice and clean with only a few light spindle marks. Record has some light scuff marks that cause some light crackles and a few light pops and is in VG++ condition. Cover has light ring wear, very minor scuffing on corners and a few tiny surface tears on bottom right corner and around edges and is in Excellent condition.

Payment is accepted by Paypal. Within Australia we also accept Direct deposit transfer and Australia Post Money Orders.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.

Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.

Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
