Ron Warren Ganderton – Sound Ceremony, original vinyl LP from 1979 on Celestial Sound RWG2.
If you’re reading this then you probably already know what you’re looking for. This is the second and best album of three that Ron Warren Ganderton recorded and issued in the UK. It came out in 1979 on his own label Celestial Sound Productions.
Discogs say: During the late 1970s multi-instrumentalist Ganderton (guitar, harmonica, keyboards and piano) along with Sound Ceremony, a rotating cast of accompanists (including future members of the Pretenders, late period progressive rockers Quasar, and Subway Sect), created a hard to narrowly define, small catalog of sounds praised by private-press hunters, esoteric appreciators and “out of time” searchers.
There was a recent re-issue on One Kind Favor, but this is the original LP and it's in the same condition as it was almost 40 years ago! I may have played it once at the time, but I think I got it as part of a bundle when subscribing to Zigzag magazine and it wasn’t of much interest so I just put it away!
The first batch of this LP had a red label but were faulty and were sent back and destroyed. This copy is the blue label version so it doesn’t have a manufacturing fault. It has been stored by me in my vinyl racks since 1979.
As you can see from the pictures it is pretty much in mint condition. The sleeve has a hint of rubbing from simply being next to other albums, but the vinyl is shiny and as new. As added bonus, inside I discovered a 10” by 8” flyer for the first album, Guitar Star!
It will be sent out well-packaged in a sturdy mailer.
