The Facts ARTIST: JOHN LENNON TITLE: Roots:John Lennon Sings The Great Rock & Roll Hits LABEL: ADAM VII. NUMBER: A8018 COVER: VG+ DISCS: MINT Description </ td> CONDITION: You are bidding on a Rare and Extremely Hard to find Roots: John Lennon Sings The Great Rock & Roll Hits on the Adam VIII Ltd. Label.
Featured on this album are Lennon's rough mixes of what became his "Rock & Roll" album. The release of this mail order album in January 1975 resulted in Lennon stepping up the process of releasing "Rock & Roll" a month later. The following law suit was resolved in favor of Capitol Records and John Lennon. Production of this LP was halted and about 3000 copies survive.
This is a Stereo Copy of the 1975 Album featuring John Lennon singing 15 non-Beatles rock & roll songs--on the Adam VIII, Ltd. label, out of New York City. This was a TV mail-order item that was pulled from circulation after 3 days. This copy has "GREATEST" not "GREAT", on the spine. The print on both the jacket and the vinyl dead-wax are clear and legible, and the record labels are not over-sized. Bell Sound is etched in the dead wax.
