Description
Original UK Island Pink Rim label stereo press LP.
The third album from Roxy Music recorded in September and released in November 1973. They were the greatest art school rock band of the early seventies and the cover shows Bryan Ferry's then girlfriend Marilyn Cole apparently lost in a jungle island. This was the first album recorded after Brian Eno had left the band and featured the hit single 'Street Life'.
This is the original issue with the earliest A-1 B-1 matrices & 1-PT 1-OL stampers of the the first press.
The fully laminated sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light laminate storage wear and some very light corner wear on the cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the company inner is intact & in EX condition.
The record is in visually VG+ condition, with a few faint sleeve removal hairlines and some light needle mark/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a few spindle markings on each side.
The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some light background noise during the run in grooves and between a couple of tracks. Overall, it plays really well and is a clear & lively listen.
The matrix nos. are; ILPS-9332, A-1 stamper 1-GO, B-1 stamper 1-GH. This is one of the early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1973 UK stereo issue of this album.
