Description

Rubbra Violin Sonata 2 Frederick Grinke UK Decca LXT

This historic recording features violinist, Frederick Grinke who is joined by the composer in a performance of the Edmund Rubbra Violin Sonata No. 2. Grinke also plays the Lennox Berkeley "Theme and Variations" with the composer in the "Sonatina for Violin and Piano". An English mono pressing on the Decca Label (LXT 2978 stampers 1A/1A), the labels are orange with gold lettering, and this is a "pancake" pressing. The record has some greyish areas and small marks (rubbing?) and otherwise is of very good appearance and plays and sounds superb with some low level surface noise, occasional crackle and a few clicks at the start of the second side. The cover has a small split in the spine edge and is in excellent condition. Payment by credit card, or Paypal is preferred –direct debit available to Australian buyers. Postage by Standard Airmail (7 to 10 days) to the U.S. or Asia is $8.50 - slightly more to Europe and elsewhere. Add $2.50 only for each additional record purchased from my auction.
