Beethoven Overtures
(HMV ASD 336 UK LP 1958)
This is an original UK Stereo pressing in very nice overall condition! It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a gold circular "Stereophonic" sticker on the front. It comes with its original polythene-lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white & gold "HMV" labels. The labels are grooved also. It has 1st press 2YRA 1069-9 and 2YRA 1070-1 matrix numbers.
Sleeve: There is some mild fading on the rear sleeve. There is a 1 cm seam split at the bottom sleeve opening. There is also a 4 cm seam split/ bit of rubbing wear at the centre of the bottom edge. VG condition.
Vinyl: Just some light to very mild sleeve rubs can be seen under a strong light. There are two extremely light hairline marks on Side 2. They measure 1.5 cm to 2.5 cm in length. These are barely noticeable under a strong light. The polythene inner sleeve has left some light, mild or very mild marks on the vinyl on some areas. VG+ condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition and show minimal spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in Near EX condition. There is some light to very mild ringwear. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety. Side 1 plays VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle which is noticeable in the background. This is obviously more noticeable in the quieter places. Side 2 plays VG+ to Near Excellent overall. There is some light or very mild crackle in some of the quieter places. There are about 5 mild clicks on the 2nd track on Side 2.
This LP would definitely benefit from a professional clean. The crackle & few mild clicks, I believe, are due to deep down dirt in the grooves. Visually the vinyl is quite clean. It would play Excellent or better, I believe, afterwards.

MINT Condition = As good as a copy you would buy from a shop, immaculate!
NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. SOME WOULD CLASS THIS AS MINT. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.
EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ringwear or edgewear.
NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only; that barely detract from the sound quality. Cover may have slight creasing or ringwear. A very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
VG Condition = A well played but serviceable copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears. The record will not be trashed!!

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7". I use a cruciform box for larger orders (4-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).
I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
