Description
Dvorak - Slavonic Dances No's: 11-16; Serenade For Strings
(HMV ASD 403 UK LP 1961)
This is an original UK Stereo pressing in very nice overall condition! This is LP 2 of a two LP set. Just to reiterate, this is LP 2 only. LP 1 (ASD 402) is missing. Therefore, this LP contain Sides 3 and 4.
It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a large sized "Stereo" on the front. It comes with its original polythene-lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white & gold "HMV" labels. It has 1st press 2YEA 368-1 and 2YEA 369-3 matrix numbers. I have some other rare UK Classical LP's for sale too. So please see my other listings.
Sleeve: There is a very small area of rubbing wear to the bottom corner tip - at the sleeve opening. This has caused a very small 0.5 cm seam split. There is some light or very mild rubbing wear to the other three corner tips. There is some light to mild fading to the rear. There are a couple of small areas of rubbing wear to the top edge. VG+ condition.
Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs can be seen under a strong light. The polythene inner sleeve has left some light to very mild marks on the vinyl in a few areas. VG++ condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition and show minimal spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in VG++ condition. There is some light or mild ringwear & creasing only. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this LP in its entirety. Side 3 plays VG+ to Near Excellent overall, & Excellent in some places. There is some light or very light crackle in a few quieter places. There are about 4 light clicks midway through Side 1. There are about 3 or 4 mild clicks near the end of Side 1. Side 4 plays VG to VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. There are a couple, or a very few, light or mild clicks in about 6 separate places on Side 2. There are no scratches. The clicks appear to be caused by deep down dirt in the grooves.
Therefore, this LP would definitely benefit from a professional clean. Most of the crackle & light or mild clicks, I believe, is due to deep down dirt in the grooves. It is not due to any groove wear. As stated, visually the disc looks nice & clean. It would, I believe, play at least Excellent afterwards.
Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for this listing.
I have some other rare Stereo UK Classical LP's for sale. So please see my other auctions.
Discount is given on P&P for multiple purchases. I shall always weigh combined purchases to get a completely accurate price. So please wait for the invoice to be sent before paying. We offer worldwide postage.
MINT Condition = As good as a copy you would buy from a shop, immaculate!
NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. SOME WOULD CLASS THIS AS MINT. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.
EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ringwear or edgewear.
NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only; that barely detract from the sound quality. Cover may have slight creasing or ringwear. A very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
VG Condition = A well played but serviceable copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears. The record will not be trashed!!
>> Postage Rates
AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.
Royal Mail have very recently increased their postage rates. So I have revised my postage costs to reflect their increases. (Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)
DISCOUNT WILL BE GIVEN ON POSTAGE FOR MULTIPLE ITEMS. SEE PRICES ABOVE.
All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7". I use a cruciform box for larger orders (4-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 2-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).
I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...Sorry, I only accept Paypal, or money sent in a registered letter from overseas buyers.
If you are uncertain about any of the above, or just simply want some information regarding any item, please do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome any questions.
Remember to check out My Other Items Lots of rare & quality vinyl! Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
