Description

Rupert Hine - Unfinished Picture

(Purple Records TPSA 7509 UK LP 1973)

This is a UK original LP pressing. It has a heavyweight matt gatefold sleeve & comes with its original generic company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press A-1U/ B-1U matrix stampers. "Porky" and "Pecko" are etched in the dead wax on Side 1 and Side 2 respectively. The "Purple" labels have "The Gramophone Co..." text around the upper perimeter. This is a rare UK LP released on Deep Purple's record label "Purple Records" in 1973. A very solid Prog Rock/ Psych/ Acid Folk LP.

Gatefold Sleeve: There is a 3 cm area of moderate rubbing wear on the bottom edge of the rear sleeve. This is at the sleeve opening. This has caused a very small 1 cm seam split at the corner tip area. There is some more moderate fading at the spine area, & the top edge area of the front sleeve. There is light, mild or more moderate rubbing wear on the top edges on some areas. There is some light or very mild rubbing wear on the spine on a few areas. The spine text is completely legible. There is some mild, very mild or more moderate ringwear on some areas. Overall, Good++ condition

Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a few areas of more moderate sleeve rubs. Overall, Very Good+ condition. The labels are in Very Good condition & show mild or very mild spindle wear. There is some light, mild or more moderate foxing. The company paper inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There is a 6 cm seam split at the centre of the bottom edge.

have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good overall & Very Good+ in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is obviously more noticeable in the quieter places. It never overpowers the music. There is some more moderate crackle in a few places. This doesn't last too long.

This copy would definitely benefit from a professional deep groove clean. The majority of the crackle is just due to microscopic deep down dirt in the grooves. This copy, I believe, would play Excellent or better after a professional clean. As it is, it is a bit of a crackly copy.
