ABOUT THE RECORD
A Farewell to Kings, by Rush, was recorded in three weeks, followed by two weeks of mixing at Advision Studios in London. Neil Peart said that 2112 made the band sound confined in their sound, so for A Farewell to Kings, the group decided to write material that featured instruments they could play naturally as well as new ones, thus allowing them to play multiple instruments when performing on stage. As a result, A Farewell to Kings features Peart playing orchestra bells, tubular bells, chimes, and other percussion; Lee playing a double neck bass; and Lifeson on new guitars and for the first time, a bass pedal synthesizer. Prior to recording, Rush completed a short tour in 1977 which saw the group perform Xanadu prior to recording. Apart from early ideas for Closer to the Heart, the majority of the album was developed in the studio.

(a) WE GRADE THE VINYL AS NEAR MINT MINUS . Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs - are (barely) visible, but are probably Audible, and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.
(b) The record is pressed on a RELATIVELY thick, inflexible vinyl. This is NOT a thin, flimsy ('dynaflex' type), vinyl, but not the thickest, most rigid vinyl, either.
(c) Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
