This definitive box set is a premium archival release that celebrates the 40th anniversary of the band's landmark 1981 album bringing together the legendary studio album alongside an expansive, previously unreleased historical live performance. It is widely acclaimed by collectors for its extensive bonus content and superior audiophile presentation. Audio Engineering: For the first time ever, all 5 records are cut using a specialized premium half-speed Direct to Metal Mastering (DMM) process. They are pressed onto 180-gram audiophile-grade black vinyl to deliver peak sonic clarity and depth.
The Studio Album (LP 1): Features the original 1981 masterpiece remastered, packaged in a single-pocket jacket with high-quality spot-varnished elements. It includes legendary tracks such as "Tom Sawyer," "Limelight," "Red Barchetta," and "YYZ." The Live Concert (LPs 2-5): Spans four full records housed in two separate gatefold jackets. It contains the complete, unreleased "Live in YYZ 1981" concert recorded over two nights at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto (March 24–25, 1981). This includes 19 unreleased live performances that capture Rush at the absolute peak of their technical live powers.
Deluxe 24-Page Booklet: Includes rare, unreleased archival band photography, reimagined cover graphics and illustrations by long-time Rush art director Hugh Syme, and new introductory liner notes penned by notable musicians including Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Les Claypool (Primus), and Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters). New and sealed, mint condition. NOTE: there is a small tear in the shrink on the bottom left corner that does not affect the cover or box set.
