Description
Limited edition of 800.
Created by layering 100 unique copies of The Beatles' White Album, this 96 minute double-LP captures how every copy of the iconic album has been distinctly shaped by its history, both visually and sonically. The 45 year-old albums, with scratches and physical imperfections accumulated with age, all play slightly differently, causing the 100 layers to gradually drift out of sync over the course of each side.
The first side of which can be heard on this DustAndGrooves Rutherford Chang page:

The gatefold cover and disc labels are composites of the weathered and graffitied originals. Also included is a 24 x 24 inch poster insert featuring images of the individual covers.
This album was made from an ongoing collection of over 1,500 numbered pressings of The White Album.
Labels are from multiple copies of the White Album labels overlayed with text blacked out. They are used randomly over the four sides. To tell which side is which, look for:
Side 1: "MAGNANT"
Side 2: "Holly" "Record 2"
Side 3: "MAGNANT" "CN"
Side 4: "Holly" "Record 1"
This is an exceptional copy from my own private collection. I am selling numerous rare and collectible vinyl records over the next month to help fund a new business project.
