SALOME & ELEKTRA Welitch Varnay Met 1952 4 LPs NM rare
Metropolitan Opera MET 9, Richard Strauss, Salome and Elektra, complete operas. Ljuba Welitch, Elisabeth Hoengen, Set Svanholm, Hans Hotter (Salome), Astrid Varnay, Walburga Wegner, Hoengen and Svanholm again, Paul Schoeffler, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Fritz Reiner. Mono, 1981. From live broadcasts of January 19 and February 23, 1952. 4 LPs with 2 librettos and a large separate booklet of notes, RCA Soria Series pressing in a deluxe black velvet-covered slipcase. This set was never sold commercially, and was available only to Metropolitan Opera subscribers who donated $125 or more. Quite rare. Vinyl NM. Cover NM.

Condition Notes:
Records are generally graded on visual inspection.
M: Mint. I only use this grade when a record is sealed.
NM: Near Mint. As good as new. I won't grade any unsealed vinyl higher than this.
VG++: Excellent. Looks unflawed but not new; sound should be fine.
VG+: May have cosmetic flaws, mild surface noise or short patches of ticking, but should sound fine overall.
VG: May have moderate noise throughout or one or two bad patches from scratches. Still fine for general listening.
Good: Noisy throughout, but plays through.
Please contact me for a refund if a record plays worse than described.
