Original 1962 release of this scarce gem. Splitless sleeve has light wear and aging with some light foxing spots and a few light edge creases along the spine. A new paper inner sleeve and a new clear polybag included for added protection. The vinyl is conservatively graded at GOOD PLUS with light surface scuffs and scratches. I would normally grade the vinyl at VG MINUS (based solely on a visual inspection) but there are some sound issues that mitigate toward the lower grade. There is one jump skip right at the beginning of Side One as Cooke croons the opening line of "That's Heaven to Me". The lyric sings "The things I see as I walk along the-----" but here the needle jumps to the end of the phrase "----heaven to me." The rest of the vinyl plays through without skipping for the remainder of the side and all of Side Two. The other main sound issue occurs in roughly the last two tracks on each side. There is intermittant distortion in this part of the vinyl during certain frequencies/volumes. I think this distortion probably always occured during the life of the vinyl - due to the mastering and/or pressing standards employed. Other than the skip at the beginning of Side One and the intermittant sound distortion at the end of each side the vinyl sounds pretty nice with only occasional soft tics/pops or patches of tolerably soft surface noise.
