SAM RIVERS "Contours" RVG, Blue Note 84206 Stereo Vinyl
This is the first edition, 1967, "VAN GELDER" pressing of SAM RIVERS' "Contours" on the "New York" labels of Blue Note BST 84206. Musicians include Sam Rivers - tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone, flute, Freddie Hubbard - trumpet, Herbie Hancock - piano, Ron Carter - bass, Joe Chambers - drums.
VINYL plays beautifully, with only intermittent very light surface noise. Ensemble sections are very dynamic and strong, clear, clean and powerful. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Very Good gloss. Super clean surface. The "New York" labels are clean with spindle marks. See photos.
COVER is in good shape, corners worn. RIngwear. Seams and Spine solid with wear and cracking. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23" back jacket is clean, "AUCTION COPY" stamp, ringwear, stains. Please see photos.
