SAMAEL, the name of an ancient Hebrew demon, was chosen by two Swiss people at the end of the 80s as the name for their new band. ''Blood Ritual'' so the name of the 2nd studio work by the Swiss Duo Vorphalak & Pat Charvet has 11 tracks with almost consistently doomy Black Metal, which is somewhere in the near of CELTIC FROST with Quorthon-like vocals. At that time, no other metal band was so vicious, so dark and so threatening, because SAMAEL approached the music completely differently than their Northern European counterparts. It was astonishing that SAMAEL was able to continue the same atmosphere as well as an identical uncompromising attitude compared to its predecessor ''Worship Him'' and still develop further.  "Blood Ritual" sound kicks a lot more ass and the keyboards come to the fore, which is why they brought Rodolphe H. a permanent keyboardist into the line-up. The gloom that was transported in SAMAEL's early works is still unique today and therefore extremely convincing. This is the 2020 re-edition, limited 600 copies on 180g transparent blue vinyl, 60x60cm, packed in 350g gatefold cover.
