Up for auction is this SAMHAIN - INITIUM LP on LIMITED EDITION RED TRANSLUCENT VINYL.
Okay first, let me say this: I really do not want to part with this item. This listing is merely just a test run to get a feel
of just how many people are gonna view & watch it. I have set the opening bid pretty high b/c like I have stated, I am
pretty fond of this piece of collectable colored vinyl. This was purchased by me way back in 1986? '87? I don't
remember exactly. It was my 2nd colored wax I had acquired for my Misfits/Samhain collection, the first being
Misfits Legacy of Brutality also on LIMITED EDITION RED TRANSLUCENT VINYL. Yes I still own that
one and "NO" I am not willing to sell that one just quite yet. If someone should happen to bid on this Samhain
colored wax at my high opening bid price or higher, then I guess I will be parting with it. But I don't think
that's going to happen until my opening bid lowers down a bit. When this listing expires, I am pretty sure
that I will not be relisting it for quite a while if at all. And I suppose if someone should happen to bid
on it, then I say this: "Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!""
Now, as far as the condition of this item, it is as follows:
~ The outside cardboard sleeve has easily a minimum of 6 obvious places where this item shows its
age. A couple of lightlly bent corners, a couple of creases, maybe some light color flaking. Just
general wear from being handled & moved around from place to place during the last 30 years.
But there are no major rips, tears, stains, or pieces missing. And, on the front cover, the main
picture of the 3 band members which is focusssed towards the center, is in EXCELLENT
shape. Meaning: that the main picture which draws your eyes to the front cover is not
damaged in any major way. It looks great!! The inside of the cardboard sleeve is noticeably
yellowed however, due to being exposed to a household with a smoker some 30 years ago.
~ The inside paper sleeve on the album itself is in SUPERB condition. No rips or tears
to mention but maybe just the slightest yellowing is noticeable.(pic #2)
~ The vinyl album itself is clearly the most important aspect of this listing. AND is
clearly the winner!! This particular copy has only been played about 3 or 4 times!!
It is in NEAR MINT condition & is VERY RARE & HARD-to-FIND such a
valuable & sought after piece of original Samhain colored vinyl. THIS IS A
EXTRAORDINARY PIECE OF SAMHAIN HISTORY!! If money is no
object then by all means, bid away!!
After buying it, I mmediately copied it to a high quality cassette for me to listen to.
Then only played the vinyl on my turntable a couple more times for that "warmer" sound
that you can only experience from listening to it on a turntable & not fron a cassette
or compact disc. THIS IS A EXTRAORDINARY PIECE OF SAMHAIN HISTORY!!
This was Glenn Danzig's 2nd official band which formed immediately following the
break up of the MISFITS. On Halloween night(10-31-83) the Misfits played their
last show at Greystone Hall in Detroit, Michigan. And after the show was over, Glenn
declared the Misfits dead and thus from the ashes, Samhain was born. After all it was
All Hallows' Eve which is the beginning of Samhain, right? It just works!! Go with it.
Glenn did & took full advantage of it.
