This sale is for a four lp box set from English folk and folk rock songstress the late Sandy Denny.

The 4 LPs are all in really good shape. The records still have a sheen, and look like they have never been played.

I played them all one time to verify their condition. When played they sounded really good with very little record noise and no skips. The inner record sleeves are all in great shape and heavy duty.

Unfortunately the inserts and booklet that accompanies the albums are not in as great shape. Neither is the cardboard box,the vinyl and booklet comes in.

All the inserts are all fully intact and readable without any rips or tears. However there is some light spotting or staining. Possibly from some moisture getting into the box. The box itself is in pretty good shape but does show some spotting, marks and light staining all over it. One of the paper seams on the bottom edge of the box has also came loose. It’s not torn off but it is separating from the cardboard box. I have tried to show this in the photos but I do not know if it will be easy for you to tell. The photos also show the staining/spotting on the outside box and inner booklet.

Before this box set came to me it had set out in a box of albums in a dusty garage since the 80s. That is why the box and contents show some staining and signs of wear. It has set out in the box for near 40 years since the original owner passed. It has not been stored in an environmentally favorably environment. However the important part if you are buying it for the music on vinyl is that LPs are in excellent shape and look unplayed. The owner might not ever have played all or any of them. There was a bunch of sealed and seemingly unplayed albums in the box with this one. I when I was play testing them might have been the first one to play them. Unless they are sealed I play test every album I sell. If it’s not good enough for me to buy and be happy with, I will not sell it.

As I said the albums are all in excellent shape. However I only rate mint to sealed albums. Only near mint if I opened a sealed album and only played it once. I personally would rate these as excellent to near mint and be very happy with them. However I know how picky some vinyl buyers are so to be very conservative as maybe I missed a speck, fingerprint or blemish. I rarely rate used open albums as to be in excellent shape,but I do it in this instance.

Sandy Denny was a great vocalist with the Fairport Convention and you find members of that band and other musicians that were big in the English folk rock scene in the late 60s thru mid 1970s. This collection features her biggest hits, deep album tracks and collaborations with others. It had many unreleased tracks back in the 80s when it was released.
