Description

Sante Palumbo - Jazz alive in the gallery

Italian private pressing, SI 0012 (1975)

Very rare private press double Lp by the Sante Palumbo group from 1975. Record has been privately recorded live at the BAR SI' down the Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery in Milan. Eight very long tracks (from 8 to 11 minutes) led by Sante Palumbo at the piano Fender with Giorgio Baiocco (tenor sax, flute), Marco Ratti (electric bass), Vittorio Boi (electric bass), Giancarlo Pillot (drums) and Maurucio Chiappeta (congas). Fans of the "Sway" Lp will love the amazing 9 minutes long monster funk track "Pop at bar Sì" (first track on the clip) with that killer hypnotic flute. "Dip" starts with a four minutes fender rhodes solo intro and then slowly goes funky!

"Kobajo" (written by Baiocco) is an incredibly furious 9 minutes long free form jazz with a fantastic tenor sax played by Giorgio Baiocco himself. Other tracks include a great interpretation of "Giorgia on my mind", Coltrane's "Another blues" and "Autumns leaves".

Funky photo of the whole group playing on the inside of the gatefold sleeve. Listen to the long clip. Rare!
