In April, 1959, the haunting, magical guitar sounds of Santo and Johnny first floated over the air waves, and two Brooklyn youths were on their way to stardom. Several weeks later, their initial recording, "Sleepwalk", zoomed up to the number one song all over America.

Theirs is a wonderful and heartwarming success story of two brothers, Santo 21, and Johnny 19, working and living with one goal always foremost in their minds — a burning desire for success. And that desire has paid off in great abundance. To date, the boys have traveled all over the United States, doing numerous television shows, night club and personal appearances, climaxed by their appearance on the Perry Como Show, an opportunity afforded, very few young performers. However, it is easily understandable. In addition to their unique talent, Santo and Johnny have modesty and "down to earth" sincerity which has won them the respect and admiration of millions of Americans.

Now, Canadian American Records proudly presents their first album entitled simply, "Santo and Johnny". The boys have taken many of the standard songs such as Summertime, Blue Moon, Tenderly, Dream, Harbor Lights and Canadian Sunset, and have added their own distinct interpretation.

The result is a well balanced, ears pleasing sound, designed for easy listening and dancing, contrasted with the driving melodies of such songs as Raunchy, Caravan and School Day. Several other original compositions, written by Santo and Johnny round out the album, including the one that will always remain first and foremost in their hearts, "Sleepwalk".

This album was arranged and conducted by Bob Davie, who has been the guiding hand in all of Santo and Johnnys musical activities.
