Description
On offer is the 1973 LP by SARABAND called CLOSE TO IT ALL on the FOLK HERITAGE label, catalogue number FHR050.
SARABAND were a trio comprising FRANK HARRISON (vocals, guitar), STEWART MAWDSLEY (vocals, guitar) and BARBARA YATES (vocals, recorders, percussion). This is their sole album, one of the first on the tiny independent Folk Heritage label, and, lacking any distribution network, it was only available at gigs or mail order. Hence the letter…
This is a genuine bit of SARABAND MEMORABILIA in the form of a handwritten letter from singer Barbara Yates, which reads, in full:

Dear Charles
Thank you very much for your letter and your order. Hope you get it in one piece.
I'm afraid the Bristol area is one we haven't covered yet, but I believe there is quite a good folk scene there. If we sort out some gigs around that way, I'll write and let you know.

Well it did arrive in one piece, and Charles was a careful owner. The 170g vinyl record is NEAR MINT, with a bright sheen, no scratches (I counted one click) and no sticking. The LAMINATE cover is near mint to excellent condition, with sharp and straight edges, no ring wear and just tiny, tiny wear at the corners, probably inevitable after 40 years. There is minor spindle wear on the labels, enough to show that Charles appreciated his record without abusing it. It comes in the original inner sleeve.
The album was acquired at auction from Omega of Stockport in June 2012.
