Description
The Field Mice's "Emma's House" 7" single (catalog SARAH 012 on Sarah Records) is their debut release, issued in November 1988 (some sources note December).
It's a 3-track 45 RPM EP/single featuring the gentle, jangly title track "Emma's House" (~3:36) on side A, alongside "When You Sleep" (~3:31–3:32), with "Fabulous Friend" (~2:52) on side B. (A few listings mention a fourth track "The Last Letter," but the standard pressing is three tracks.)
Classic Sarah Records indie pop/twee/jangle pop sound—soft, melancholic, and wistful—with Robert Wratten's tender vocals and shimmering guitars. It peaked at #20 on the UK Indie Chart and remains a beloved early artifact from the band, highly collectible among fans of C86-era and Sarah indie.
