All the 7 years waiting was a worthwhile as Sarah McLachlan delivers another perfectly crafted album. I loved her ever since Surfacing, and it's a bit of a shame that since that album 13 years ago she only managed to release Afterglow and now Laws of Illusion. There are no second rate songs on this album, each track is beautiful and unique as is Sarah with her mesmerizing presence and angelic voice. There are couple of songs reflecting her earlier records, but overall the sound is laid back and as innovative as Sarah's been in years. There are couple of songs which overleapt from her Closer: The Very Best of compilation, not that it makes them less fascinating. In the album's context of heartbreak, letting go and moving on Don't Give Up On Us and U Want Me 2 sound just in the right place, and what a blessing as U Want Me 2 is simply amazing and does help to heal your own wounds which were bleeding for a while. This record is like a story of strength and courage of trying to live even if there's no love left. As someone said "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, Loving
