Machined matrices

     One of the very first picture discs (if not the very first) released in 1971.  Magical Love by Saturnalia is a folk/psych/prog classic. Produced by Keith Relf (ex Yardbird- Renaissance). Comes with the original booklet of 26 pages in NM condition. This also retains the original half round inner poly sleeve and the outer hard polythene outer sleeve. The vinyl is in EX condition without any mark and just two hairlines. Group members were  Aletta, Adrian Hawkins, Rod Roach, Richard Houghton and Tom Compton. This is ULTRA RARE esp. in this marvellous condition!!!! 

The 'holographic lenticular' record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASNT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches or scuff lines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL JUST PRESSED LOOK!!!!  It is also GREAT to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual!!!!  The record plays with NO nasty loud pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, though of course (like all early picture discs) it has some background sound / crackle in places (exactly as manufactured!)!!! At the time some customers complained about this fact and were presented with a normal black vinyl at no extra cost. I have not ever come across this yet. Bearing this  fact in mind the sound quality is still SUPERB with NO distortion and quite minimal background noise!!!! 

In the last 10 years I have only come across 2 copies of this great Saturnalia album which in my opinion is the pinnacle of musicianship in the early seventies and probably would have been  a super band given the right promotion. This reminds of the Comus stunner for example or also Forest's Full Circle mixed with some Jefferson Airplane. Sensational sound quality, NO skips or jumps. NO clicks,  barely any crackle and static can at times only be heard at quieter passages (there are not too many!!) and in the silent grooves between the tracks. This is really a stunning SUPER heavy vinyl with a beautiful deep gloss. This vinyl has not been played much !!!  A definite EX!!!  There are only retraction traces, not visible in the normal daylight, totally inaudible on replay. Don't be mistaken, this is a great quality vinyl, worthy of inclusion into a great prog collection!!! Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled.

 This is a seriously desirable ORIGINAL album and very rare in this great condition!!! For all my regulars in Italy, Germany,  Russia, Japan and the States, you know who you are, it does not get much better than this. This is nowadays gold dust and very hard indeed to still find as an original with its originally issued booklet!!! Beware of later represses that do NOT have the holographic centres and a booklet with a very different modern feel finish. These are sometimes passed off as originals. The copy on auction is a genuine original with the machined matrices.

Booklet: NM. The booklet is in NM condition and has all 26 pages fully attached. NO dog ears or creases and NO tears or writing. It presents band photos and background info to the tracks. This is hardly used, a sensational collector's object and the real item, not a cheap re-print.

 The LP comes in its original hard poly sleeve as per picture. It has one seam split to the bottom.

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible, LEAVE ALONE IN THIS STUNNING EX (the vinyl) CONDITION!!! It is indeed very late in the day for this stunner!!!!!

Holographic lenticular Labels are NM, beautiful!! They present different views from different angles.

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.
