SAVOY BROWN Blue Matter 1969 NEAR MINT SHRINK

$

I have not sold on ebay for a couple of years.  My feedback was 100%, the vast majority of which was in buying/selling records.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Record Grading is a subjective endeavor!  Sellers tend to over-grade, buyers tend to under-grade.  Honesty, attention to detail and complete accuracy are the only ways to counteract this problem.

Visual Grading   under a bright light is absolutely necessary!  Any record looks near mint in the dark.

Play Grading      is everything.  I have had pristine looking records play crackly, and have had scratchy looking records play surprisingly cleanly.

Label

Descriptions       are a must.  It can be very frustrating to see a listing of a copy of (for example) Iron Butterfly’s In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, that tells you nothing of the label.  Is it an original purple & brown label, a 2nd issue yellow ‘1841 Broadway’ address label, a 3rd issue yellow ‘Rockefeller Plaza’ address label, or an even later gray label?#!??

Sealed Records I will never knowingly sell a re-sealed record.  I have been burned in the past, and know the frustration.  However, once you buy a sealed record, and open it, I just cannot offer a refund if you don’t like what you got.  Unless I witness the opening, there is simply no way for me to know if what you send back is what I sent you.  If I have suspicions about a sealed record, I will either not sell it, or relate my suspicions in the listing.

Purchasing a record sight-unseen can be very rewarding, or can be very disappointing.

My goal is very simple.  To have every buyer finish the deal happy!

WITH THAT SAID, UP FOR AUCTION:

Item:                                     Savoy Brown

Title:                                     Blue Matter

Label:                                   Parrot

Label Number:                PAS 71027

Label Description:        Black label with colored bird; ‘Distributed by London Records, Inc.’ at bottom

Year of Release:            1969

Country:                              USA

Cover Grade:                    NM                 The gatefold cover still has the original shrink, so it has never been fully opened.  There are no cutouts, splits, bent corners, ring wear or stickers.  There is an old price sticker on the outside of the shrink.

Vinyl – Visual Grade:    VG++                        Under a bright light, both sides are still super glossy, but either side may show a couple of very minor hair lines, and some minor “splotching” (what I refer to as the interaction between vinyl and paper inner sleeves over long term storage).  Still very nice.

Vinyl – Play Grade:        VG++                        My play grade notes state that there may be an occasional snap, crackle or pop, but is still an enjoyable play.

Label Grade:                    NM                 Both labels are a nice, near mint, but one side does have a factory crease on it.

Comments:                       Maybe not quite as nice as the other Savoy Brown LPs I have listed, but still a nice addition.

I USE THE FOLLOWING GRADING SYSTEM:

For those who prefer a #’d system

Mint*--------------------------------------(M)------------------9.5 – 10.0

Near Mint---------------------------------(NM)------------------8.5 – 9.0

Very Good Plus Plus--------------------(VG++)-----------------7.0 – 8.0

Very Good Plus--------------------------(VG+)----------------------5.0 – 6.5

Very Good--------------------------------(VG)---------------------3.5 – 4.5

Good---------------------------------------(G)---------------------2.0 – 3.0

Poor--------------------------------------- (P)-------------------1.0 – 1.5

* - Due to the nature of the beast, genuine Mint vinyl records are an extreme rarity!

Thank you and happy bidding!  Please email with any questions.  If it is a question that might be important to all potential bidders, I may show it at the bottom of the auction.

Please note that the $4.00 listed shipping cost is for one (1) album for media mail (up to 8 days).  If you wish a quicker mailing option, or if you win multiple LPs, please do not pay until I can provide you with an accurate shipping cost for your shipping choice.
