Description
Very rare recording.
Please read detailed decription for condition.
Seriously rare Leonid Kogan recording.
Graded conservatively. A VERY acceptable copy, perhaps not NM, BUT PLEASE SEE DESCRIPTION.
I have not given this LP a professional clean and the surface noise noted in the description would most likely benefit from such a clean. The condition is excellent minus on the vinyl and VG+ on the sleeve.
Many thanks for looking.
Please ask if there are any further questions. I will not end auctions early.
Artist:
The Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kyril Kondrashin.
Violin - Leonid Kogan.
Title:
BRAHMS: VIOLIN CONCERTO. (In D Major, op. 77)
Lable:
COLUMBIA. UK. (First UK Columbia pressing, original first edition turquoise silver label.)
Catalogue number: SAX 2307 Stereo.
Condition:
VINYL:
Side 1 -
EX - (Retains gloss. Visually and audibly I grade this as EX- There is slight surface noise on the intro to band one, and there is occasional surface noise in quiet passages (this is only slight). Towards the end of the movement there is some further slight surface noise, there are no ticks or major deteriorations in sound quality. There is a small hairline mark at the end of the movement (please see picture) this mark is visable but is unfeelable - it provides NO rotational clicks, however, some of the surface noise noted sounds toward the end of the movement.)
Side 2 -
EX (There are no major marks or scratches to this side. The surface is clean and retain it's gloss. In terms of audio there is slight surface noise present during the introduction to the first band, this abates after 30-45 seconds. The rest of the first band play beautifully. Band two plays without any concerns - side two grades as EX, both visually and in respect of sound.) The lables are in perfect NM condition without any spindle wear whatsoever.
SLEEVE:
VG+ (A very nice and presentable sleeve. Fully intact. There is a small piece of laminate missing from the front sleeve and the top spine has a 1" split (see photo). The other spines are fully intact. The rear sleeve displays some minor age yellowing to the non-laminated rear. There is a small h2o mark toward the rear, please see photo. There is general rubbing along the bottom spine, but there is no splitting.)
