Before we get started, if your country charges import duty on second hand LP's, sorry but NO I will not underdeclare the customs duty declaration, see the VERY bottom of this description for my valid insurance and legal reasons.

PLEASE READ TOTAL DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING, there is a lot of description to read and hear !!!

2 copies,  BOTH are from exactly the same first label T/S stamper  YAX 247-2 / YAX 248-12(visible on both discs in supersize photo size of the relative labels)

AS a joint listing lets just say its all VG+ LP's /VG+ covers Fully professionally washed and TEST played,however their is some aspects of these LP's that are better than VG+..........

The second sound sample and most damaged is an original UK Press.  (But listenable)

The FIRST COPY and FIRST sound sample you are listening to NOW included in this auction, regarded by me to be more listenable as it has less scuffs and scratches, and the TONE is a little better due to being early off the mother stamper (Pancake thick press) from the UK master supplied to AUSTRALIA.  YES primary auction item is  pressed in Australia, and has a locally printed cover with very similar artwork to the UK edition.  This OZ copy belonged to a local professional Cello player and a member of the WASO (Perth) he unfortunately wrote in pen on reverse of the OZ cover track times and his name.

AFTER the run in few minutes on the sound sample it plays much better than a VG+ rating and only has one five tic repetetive SSSSHHHHHSSSK on commence of 3rd movement symphony 1. Like I said , I believe this (and other oz pressed pancake pressed SAX pressings) are actually better tone than the same UK press. But that could be just my preference, but a recent buyer of my OZ sax 2315 (SAXO 2315) agrees with me I think (see my feedback)

same runout codes, just has a few more tics in the opening minutes both sides due to the unprotected flat run in (Not a raised lip as the later T/S, and the other UK disc offered is). Australian LP Tics especially during quiet passages due to some wear damage , and sunlight visible multiple scuffs (see matchhead in photo 23 pointing to the only photographable damage , a mark on the run in that tics if you put the needle down too early). 

THE SECOND SOUND SAMPLE AND OTHER DISC BEING THE UK SAX 2318

HAS A NICE VG+ COVER, VERY LITTLE YELLOWING OF REAR CARD, ALL FLIPBACK SEAMS STILL GLUED DOWN, one VERY SMALL SEAM SPLIT IN MIDDLE BOTTOM 4 CMS (SEE PHOTO'S 4 AND 5). laminate is starting to lift as bubbles, but not torn near the spline on front cover. VERY LITTLE ringwear in the predominantly black cover.

THE VG+ LP has sunlight visible scuffing, and one sounding scratch opening 2 minutes of Sym 1, you can hear it OCCASIONALLY and very softly in the SECOND SOUND SAMPLE opening 2 minutes, also visible in photo 8, look next to the matchhead

IF YOU want to compare the uk STAMPER sound sample to the OZ  STAMPER version, simply listen to either embedded tracks in then AUDIO player by moving your mouse over the player and select track one for OZ or track 2 for UK.  (not that the sampling rate of the digital turntable (192kbps) is going to indicate a lot, both are really just there to show the level of background noise in the most obvious run in and scratched areas.).  The track timing of both is similar, except the second half of the UK disc goes longer

CAUTION, being a flat edged pressing , the OZ one has gained a couple of small tics in that opening minute, although even under magnification I can see only a few marks in the area producing the few  repetetive tics. (NO edge protection from the cover scuffing, unlike the later pressing having the thicker raised lip edge) MOST OTHER EXAMPLES of SAXO pressings I HAVE SEEN IN AUSTRALIA HAVE BEEN THE LATER RAISED EDGE PRESSINGS, WHICH MAKE THIS A VERY EARLY PRESSING FROM THE AUSTRALIAN COPY OF THAT UK MASTER STAMPER. Due to the low volume of SAX pressings and sales in Australia, that may have been only a few thousand before switching to the raised lip edge pressing we are all used to.  .  

FIRST SOUND SAMPLE GUIDE OF AUSTRALIAN PRESSED SAXO 2318

First 3 minutes 20 seconds is of opening side 1, where there are a couple of LIGHT REPETETIVE TICS, then I transfer to the... SECOND SIDE SYMPH 8, WHCH IS THE REMAINDER OF THE 5 MINUTES 47 SECONDS TOTAL that side is cleaner than sym 1

Where the same opening section of Sym 1 starts and goes for 3 minutes 28 seconds. Side two Sym 8 start at 3 minutes 46 seconds and runs for remainder of sample. These opening sections are where there is more tics so you can hear for yourself, the rest of this LP is no worse during the rest of the recording, mostly better of course away from the edges.

BE aware the sound samples talked about above  accentuates treble (Hence more static crackle that you DON'T hear through your Hi Fi) and is low quality, but you get the idea.
