Description
Excellent condition copy of this rare release on Columbia Records (SAX 2369-2372 - 4 LP set) with its original Turquoise and Silver label design on all four records. The set comes in a greay box but, unfortunately, there is no libretto. Carlo Maria Giulini conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra and Philharmonia Chorus in a performance of Mozart's Opera "Don Giovanni" with Eberhard Wachter; Joan Sutherland; Luigi Alva; Gottlob Frick; Elisabeth Schwarzkopf; Giuseppe Taddei; Piero Cappuccilli and Graziella Sciutti.
Condition is excellent. The box is basically clean and crisp but the lower edge is split at both its right hand and its left hand edge. The spine is good and clean and the embossed lettering is not worn away - as can sometimes be the case.
The vinyl is in near mint condition with no scratches, scuffs or abrasions. Playback is unaffected by any major ticks, clicks or crackles; surface noise is generally low and there is no noticeable distortion and no jumps or skips.
This is quite a rare and sought after set and a real treat for music lovers AND audiophiles alike.
