Description

Very nice condition copy of this 1961 release on Columbia Records (SAX 2398) with the original Turquoise and Silver label design. Otto Klemperer conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra and Chorus in performances of Mendelssohn's Symphony no. 4 in A Major, Op. 90 "Italian" and Schumann's Symphony No. 4 in D Minor, Op. 120.

Condition is Excellent. The sleeve is clean and glossy with no tears, creases or seam splits. The spine is a little rubbed but it is not split and still looks perfectly good on the shelf.

The playing surfaces are visually in excellent condition with no major scratches, scuffs or abrasions though both sides have some minor marks which have been caused when the polythene lining of the original inner sleeve has adhered to the surfaces. This inner sleeve has been replaced (with a brand new Goldring Exstatic inner) but these marks do make a few unpleasant crackles. Having said that, I am sure that a professional cleaning machine would make a big difference here and might well restore this disc to near perfoct condition.
