Description
Title:Brahms Violin Concerto.Otto Klemperer conducting the French Radio Orchestra,David Oistrach on violin.Original UK stereo pressing from 1961 on the blue silver COLUMBIA label,SAX 2411.Low matrix stampers(2 and 3):YLX 1062-3 and YLX 1063-2.I also offer the 2nd reference recording of this composition by Kletzki/Martzy on Columbia 33CX 1165 in this auction!
Condition:The record looks mint-/ex+,side 1 has one tiny,a few mm short surfacemark wich does not affect playing.Side 2 has a couple of superficial,tiny hairlines,to be seen only under a strong light.The surface is clean and shiny in general.Both sides play in mint-/ex++ for most of the time,there are some very few and very soft occasional tics behind the music in some parts,these play in ex(+).The violin’s solo-passages(even the long one at the end of side 1)are free of that.There are no spindle-marks on the label.The sleeve has a laminated front in beautiful shape,the lamination has popped up a bit(few mm only)at the bottom,but it is still intact and fixed to the cover,all seams are intact,there’s a minimal corner wear bottom/right,the white back is clean except for some very light age-spots,ex++.
Grading:I have cleaned the record 3 times with L’art Du Son fluid on a prof.record cleaning machine.I played the whole record between each cleaning,either on a Rega Planar 9 with Rega Super Elys moving magnet stylus or on a Linn Axis with an Audio-Technica moving coil stylus.I also graded the record visually under a strong light.My basic gradings are:mint-ex-vg.
