Vinyl Grading
Visual Would grade side 1 visually as VG. There are a lot of light marks andhairline scratches which I have tried my best to show on the photos. Side 2 – 5are better but would still grade as VG.
Audio It plays well on my Linn Sondek, no skips or jumps. I would gradeoverall as VG. On side 1 there isaudible crackle at the start for about a minute. Then it improves, some lightcrackle in the background. After 14 minutes it is better again. Side 2, thereare 9 pops at the start and then light background crackle. After 16 minutes itis much clearer with the exception of a splutter at the start of band 2. Side 3,there is crackle at the start which gets better after 3 minutes. Then after 6minutes it’s much quieter with the exception of some pops 8 minutes into therecord. Side 4 is the best side, there is just very light crackle at the start.Side 5, again crackle at the start which improves after 5 minutes. There iscrackle again for a period 10 minutes into the record and a tick around 14minutes. It is better again after 22 minutes.
Box Grading
The box is VG. Some marks on the front, ascuff on top right hand corner and a stain on the bottom right hand edge. Thereis writing on the inside lid (“Croquet Winnings 1962”) in pen. Two of the innersleeves have tears on the label window.
