Description
Immaculate condition copy of this rare 1961 release on Columbia Records (SAX 2442 & SAX 2443 2 LP set) with its original turquoise and silver label design. Pierre Dervaux conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the Theatre de l@Opera Comique, Paris in a performance of Bizet's Opera "Les Pecheurs de Perles" (The Pearl Fishers) with Ernest Blanc (baritone as Zurga); Nicolai Gedda (tenor as Nadir); Janine Micheau (soprano as Leila) and Jacques Mars (bass as Nourabad).
Condition is excellent. The sleeves are both clean and crisp with no tears or seam splits and hardly any shelf wear (just a tiny bit of wear visible on the corners). The spines are both perfectly intact with no creases or splits. Both sleeves are in much the same condition as on the day when they left the factory.
The vinyl is in near mint condition with no scratches, scuffs or abrasions. Playback is unaffected by any ticks, clicks or crackles; surface noise is wonderfully low and there is no noticeable distortion and no jumps or skips.
This is quite a rare and sought after set and a real treat for music lovers AND audiophiles alike.
