SAX 5286 RARE T/s B/s Label, UK issue was only RED SEMI ! Schwarzkopf Opera Fav

SOUND SAMPLE AUTO STARTED WHEN YOU OPENED THE PAGE, TURN UP THE VOLUME... Here is a sound sample of  5 minutes 4 seconds, first 1 minutes 45 seconds is of, side 2 track 2 where the smallest and only sounding mark is audible for about 25 very soft tics, then back to opening of side 2 commences at 1 minute 52 seconds, Side 1 opening starts at 3 minutes 8 seconds, and runs the remaining 2 minutes to sample end. Unfortunately your tinny computer speaker and the poor sampling rate of my turntable (192kbps) is NOT going to display too much sound quality, but will indicate to bidders how relatively clean the record is.  Yes there is occasional unrepetetive quiet tics and pops, and a few repetetive ones at start of sound sample, but visually this LP is better than VG+. but due to those opening edge tics and one 2 ml shallow scratch that produces those tics at sample start, safer to just rate it all vg+, a few scuffs from dust jacket but only visible as spider trails  you see in bright sunlight only. TURN up the SOUND and listen while you read on. 

 Record is suspected to be a "sample only " record therefore very early off the Australian stamper, as there is a mark on the label at 10 O'clock as a circular area that is where I have seen the red "Sample Only " stickers attached on other turquoise label Columbias in Australia.  (see photo 7)

Cover VG++, LP VG+AND IN THIS LABEL, it is SUPER RARE as a curio, with different first issue label to UK SAX 5286. Officially SAX 5286  first issued with  the Red Semi labels as first editions BUT........

This LP has the same master stampers as the collectible  UK Columbia pressing stock No. SAX 5286. (also YAX 3375-2 , YAX 3376-1 stampers) That UK issue was only ever a RED Semi label as a first edition, but in Australia we issued the turquoise label right thru to THIS SAX 5286 that I have seen. In All my ebaying I have sold about 7 such labels, (Turquoise but later than SAX 2539, the last official UK Turquoise label SAX issue) they are extremely rare, even in OZ where they were issued.  All Australian SAX Columbias have a suffix to the normal UK stock no. SAXO instead of SAX, but all oTher details correspond to the UK issues.

Record has a few minor tics,ONE VERY   small damage spot only visible under 10X magnification or sunlight(1 x 2mm scratch YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE TICS IN THE SOUND SAMPLE) which cause  corresponding sections of EXTREMELY LIGHT ticking, during side 2 track 2  Tchakovsky Eugene Onegin act 1 Tatiana's Letter Scene. It is visible in the very last supersize photo (of side 2) between 4 and 5 o'clock  in a darker ring of the reflective light photo, I know where it is so I know where to find it, see if you can see it inside track 2 opening

Record also treated with "LAST" preservative, said to protect against play wear for upto 200 'plays'

I would suggest this is VERY enjoyable, but ALSO to purchase as a rare curio if you buy SAX turquoise  labels. or SCHWARZKOPF RECORDINGS.
