Description
SCARCE Promo BEATLES Let It Be Radio Spots 7" United Artists 1970 #42370 Hi. First off, USA ONLY. Secondly, if you have less than 10 feedback, you must email me before bidding to verify your bid or else I will cancel your bid and blacklist you. Sorry, but I have had waaaay too many non-paying low-feedback bidders lately. Thanks.
A couple of years ago I purchased a lot of promo 45's, 33 LP's, and reel-to-reels from an old radio station.
Surprisingly, this lot contained many rare and often-destroyed vintage one-sided advertising spot 45rpm records, such as commercials for (then) upcoming films such as "The Graduate" and "Easy Rider," and the highlight of the collection, this super-scarce radio spot Beatles "Let It Be" promo record.
Some other highlights from the lot includes a reel of US ARMY spots during Viet Nam, a reel of Cedar Point Amusement Park advertisements from 1970, stacks of late-1960's Pepsi commercial LP's, many Diet Coke reels with music by artists such as Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and more, as well as other promo rock 45's including the strange PSA-1 James Brown public service "Fight Against Drug Abuse" announcement" on King in the sleeve.
I am not a record dealer, so I don't grade records per se. However, these are all in great shape and are pretty mint (many look like they were only played once if ever). If one has any scratches I will mention it, but I don't think many do. Note that the paper sleeves on some of the records may or may not be original.
In this auction, you are bidding on the aforementioned United Artists 42370 Promo BEATLES Let It Be Radio Spots 7". This was made in 1970. I see that this one sold 2 years ago for an undisclosed price, and also this one still in the mailer (!) sold for $500 2 years ago as well.
This is a one-sided 7" that plays at 33 1/3 RPM. It has 3 cuts, 60, 30, and 10 seconds. Hand-written "42370" and also some backwards numbers in the dead wax maybe "20387" but it's hard to read. Also a capital "S" in a circle stamped. I have not listened to it because my tube amp phono section decided to die. Hopefully this will pay to fix it lol. As you can see, it's in nice shape with no cracks, chips, major scratches or repairs. Basically it's been sitting in a box for 40 years.
I think it's in very nice shape overall, but remember that the camera makes the record look better than it is. Please pay attention to the last picture, where I comment on light surface scratches that you can see under direct light here and there and what it looks like under said lighting. In a nutshell, I see a few scratches here and there but nothing I don't think that would cause it to skip. I dunno maybe it's an 8 out of 10?
Also, please ignore the $4.00 shipping limitation. This is going fully insured Registered Mail, USA ONLY, and might be $15.
Again, this is just one of several vintage radio promos that I have up for auction this week, so be sure to check out my other auctions as well.
